1. NOBILITY
Though IJzerland has a vacant throne since 7811, nobility still exists, although it has few political power left. A family tree of the families of Gaurțaland-Hlumi and Țeihwonohaims, intertwined with some foreign families, can be found here.

About the map
In this period the Kagqizeinshaims was the last remnant of the Dardan colony of Sideria. Fagurna and Gaurțaland were independent states, although the latter was already de facto ruled by Badacho; the king of IJzerland was also king of Gaurțaland. The international borders are a darker shade of red; the intranational borders are a lighter shade of red. The realms of noble families (granddukes, dukes, counts and lords) are green for Gaurțaland and brown and blue/purple for IJzerland (the former Țraubbjus resp. Hrosaland-jah-Numuland parts). The white areas are directly governed by Badacho (or Miklabaurgs).

There were many noble families in IJzerland at this point in time. In the 79th century many noble families became extinct or were disowned by the state; most territories were therefore confiscated by the state, whereas others were inherited by other families. In 7991 there were only three families left: those of Gaurțaland-Hlumi, Țeihwonohaims and Waddjeland. The dukes and duchesses of the Sambekes are considered personae non gratae in IJzerland since 7913, when the archipelago of Sambeqqĭ Staed (present day Kagqizeinshaims) was annexed.

The Duchy of Gaurțaland-Hlumi
The most important family is that of the dukes and duchesses of Gaurțaland-Hlumi. The family is quite old and claims to descend from king Iakaubus of Hrosaland, who managed to reign for a short time in 6978 and 6979, and who wasn't related to the otherwise ruling royal family. After Gaurțaland (Parasideria) was conquered from the Dardans in 7739, it became linked with IJzerland in personal union, but otherwise remained independent until 7803. King Gairharțs XIV Ereikssuns (Gairharțs I in Gaurțaland) created several new provinces in his new territory. One of them was the duchy of Gaurțaland-Hlumi, which comprised the northernmost part of Gaurțaland, bordering the former kingdom of the Wendes, which had been part of Țraubbjus and subsequently IJzerland since 7506. Buajațs Iakaubussuns, who was the second son of the grand-duke of Hrosaland and the closest advisor to the king, was created duke of the new duchy. The present day duchess is Gairhilțar VI Flaushilțrsdauhtar. She came to power in 7974. The dukes and duchesses of Gaurțaland-Hlumi zealously advocate the restoration of the monarchy, preferably by appointing the reigning duke or duchess of Gaurțaland-Hlumi to be king of IJzerland.

Hertogin Gairhilțar VI is married to Gauțalahs Ațalțairdissuns. They have five daughters: 1). Gairtriuța, the heriditary duchess, who is presently married to Sebastias Hadrijanaussuns, the heritary count of Țeihwonohaims. They have two sons, the eldest of whom will eventually become duke of Gaurțaland-Hlumi. 2). Brunhilțar, who is married to Ytthysinos Ioulious Philippos, the crown prince of Sundria and heir presumptive of the throne of the Dardan Empire. They have one daughtar. 3) Margaraița, married to a relative of the former king of Aïchion. Their son Husdan Garhetsdotanos is considered by the IJzerlandic government to be the rightful head of state of Aïchion. 4) Aifaurma, who is not married. She is the present Haubițreiks of IJzerland. 5). Aurtalințo, who is the queen of Sainte Montagne, because she married the king, Jean-Martin Rouge. They have two children.

The County of Țeihwonohaims
The counts and countesses of Țeihwonohaims are the second important family. They were deposed as ruling family of their city as early as 7793. The present day family manages to survive by means of their large forestry estates in Numuland. The present count is Hadrijanus II Sebastiinssuns, since 7950. His age is high enough to grant him a membership of the Walidaize Hus, which he however politely refused. His only daughter died in 7984 when she was 32, his sons are the present heriditary count Sebastias and his younger brother Liutpaulds. While the latter is unmarried, Sebastias was married twice: from his first marriage with the late Airța Brunhilțrsdauhtar his sons Iosefs and Julijus were born. Iosefs is married to a woman from the elite of the southern country Milantica; they have one son. From Sebastias' second marriage with the heriditary duchess of Gaurțaland-Hlumi, Gairtriuța Gairhilțrsdauhtar, he has again two sons.

The Viscounty of Waddjeland
A third noble family that practically has no social status left at all, but maintains to keep the traditions alive indoors, is formed by the viscounts and viscountesses of Waddjeland. Although some people believe they are descandants of a 71th century Votic family that gave up nomadism, the viscounts of Waddjeland themselves deny these rumours, Votians of course not being proper IJzerland people. The centre of the viscounty is the castle in Waddjestațs, which is enormous in comparison to other castles in IJzerland, and forms the reason of the existance of the town. The viscounty was created in 7449 by king Lajaus I Iosefissuns of Hrosaland-jah-Numuland. The present viscountess is Hilțar XIII Julijausdauhtar, who holds the title since 7988, but there have in fact been three families that have been claiming the title.

The Duchy of Sambeqqĭ Staed
Some sort of Sambeke resistance movement against the Dardans was founded in the archipelago off the coast of Țraubbjus as early as 7359, but it was only in 7833 that an independence war started and 60 years later Sambeqqĭ Staed gained independence. This was only for a short while however, because in 7913 the entire archipelago was annexed by IJzerland. The title of the leaders of the resistance movement was at one time falsely translated as 'duke', and so the independent Sambeqqĭ Staed was known as a Duchy. Since 7913 the ducal family is not welcome in IJzerland; most of the time they live in Sevosetia, IJzerland's neighbouring country that stood up to assist the Sambekes in 7913, but was shamefully defeated by the IJzerlandic fleet.
