Flags: see list on the right. IJzerland has one
official flag that is normally displayed whenever the
country is represented in one way or another. There is also
a Royal Standard, but that wasn't used that often between 7811
and 7998, as there were no kings. It was however the prerogative
of the acting head of state (see below) to have the Standard
borne in his or her presence; few of them chose to do so
however. Each of the three regions has a flag, but among the
normal provinces it is not a custom to bear, let alone to
have flags; three of the autonomous provinces have flags.
Following the war of 7913, during which the then independent
duchy of Sambekistan was annexed to become the autonomous
province of Kagqizeinshaims, the Sambekes were forbidden to
have a flag representing them.
