Welcome to my site about Europe. Here you can find the present heads of state and government of the countries and some dependencies in Europe.

The countries listed here are official existing countries, that are recognized by the United Nations or by at least one UN-member, so Northern (Turkish) Cyprus, Kosovo, South Ossetia and Abkhazia are mentioned happily between the other countries, although the matter of their sovereignty is still being discussed. Currently there are 42 republics, 11 monarchies and one Holy See located in Europe (for my definition of Europe: see the map on the left).
The six dependencies listed here are Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, the Faroe Isles and also the Åland Isles. Since they share their heads of state with the countries to which they are related, only their heads of government are mentioned.
